Who We Are

Our Pactice

Our Practice is located in Wainscott,  Rochester, Kent,  easily accessible from the A2 and A289. We are situated in a residential area. Hollywood House is a detached property away from the road in a beautiful setting within its own private grounds. There is free parking in our gated office complex. The nearest station is Strood. Hollywood Lane and is on a local bus route (175). Our practice is on the first floor so unfortunately there is no disabled access

Our Approach

As experienced psychotherapists / counsellors our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We offer a warm, professional and friendly approach, where you will be listened to with empathy and sensitivity. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, giving support and understanding to enable you to move forward. We use a combination of tools bringing together different elements of specific therapies. We take the view that there is no single approach that everyone is an individual, therefore we tailor our approach to suit the individual needs.

What to expect

Deciding to undertake counselling can be daunting, not least because you are asked to trust another person with some of your hardest and most difficult fears, thoughts and feelings. It can be hard trying to cope on your own. Taking to a trained professional helps you make sense of your thoughts and feelings and it means that you have somebody on your side. We will meet for an initial session to find out more what you are looking for in therapy, and to discuss together how to move forward.

Our Therapy

Anxiety / Depression

Anxiety  is an uncomfortable emotion, giving you an unpleasant inner turmoil, that most of us will experience at some time in our life. It can be bought on by trauma, bereavement, relationships, drugs, abuse, physical and mental health problems and much more .

Depression is a common mental disorder that can cause people to experience depressed mood, loss of enjoyment in life, feelings of guilt or low self esteem.  It affects people of every age, some may only experience it once and for others it can re-occur throughout their life.

Relationships

Relationship counselling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both couples and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship. It can feel like a big step talking to someone else about the issues in your relationship, especially as one of you might be resistant to attending counselling. However, relationship counselling is not about who is right or wrong, but finding a way forward in open discussion, without blame or anger to achieve a new level of understanding.
